"Wings" scores # 8 spot

Los Angeles, CA, January 26, 2000 -- Eileen Carey's "Wings" (from her CD single "That Town") recently received the #8 ranking in the pop category of Unisong's 1999 International Song Contest. The songwriting contest attracted more than 4,200 entrants. Written about a parent making a life transition, Carey's bluesy vocals are a perfect match for the telling of this story.

Also on the single, "That Town" lyrics reflect on the need to leave her Cleveland hometown and strike out on her own. This song also received a certificate of merit in Unisong's 1998 competition, placing in the top ten percent. Completing the CD is "Lazy", the story of what can happen to relationships over time.

Eileen is a singer/songwriter currently in the studio working on an album. She resides in the Los Angeles area and performs throughout southern California.
