Eileen Carey album review
Hearts of Time
Eileen Carey’s new album “Hearts of Time” is a refreshing straight forward approach to pop country music. Her songs are vivid in character as in the song “Good Time Charlie” which is about a guy that anyone can find at the bar in Nashville. In this day and age of slang and poorly spoken vocabulary, Eileen is a welcome relief. Eileen’s voice is a melodic treat and every word is heard clearly and distinctly. Eileen has a mastery over her voice that isn’t condescending, but is celebratory. Her lyrics take you on a journey musically. It’s like having a book of short stories sung to you. Having heard Eileen perform live in the KCTY studio, I have become a huge fan. The voice you hear on the album is her straight forward singing voice, it hasn’t been tampered with by a producer to sound good. Eileen is a great singer and you can dance on the lyrics on “Hearts of Time” as they flow through the air. www.kCTY.org
