Eileen Carey’s Single:
“That Was Her this is now”
By Christi Broekemeier

In Eileen Carey’s new single “That Was Her This is now” the country singer from Southern California use her Nashville native seemingly easy flowing twang to tell the universal country themed song of being the new woman in a man’s life; when he was mistreated and, to great effect. With lyrics that can and do remind any woman who has been there to pick up the pieces when a man has been singed and feels like a wounded puppy; unable to trust again with great truth and emotion. Telling her new lover that she is not the ex, I am my own person and I won’t hurt you. It is the poetry of the lyrics that country that country fans and non-fans can relate to, even many males since they have also tried to gain a women’s trust after their hearts been shattered. Eileen’s voice itself is warm, welcoming and full of heart just like the country music industry likes their musicians to convey. The song is worth a listen, it has universal appeal in its theme itself, and even for non-country fans you may find yourself falling for the red head with the catchy tunes and endearing voice.
