![]() Eileen Carey - Movin' On by Chuck Dauphin ![]() If you're looking for a female singer who sounds like she's from North Mississippi, and grew up on Tammy and Loretta, I will go ahead and tell you that Eileen Carey might not be your bag. Her music definitely has a California approach to Country, as it's apparent that she has listened to several other styles of music during her career. Those pop sounds come out best on songs like "What Goes Around," "Moving On," and "Newsflash," which all sound like they were heavily inspired by the likes of Chrissie Hynde or Fleetwood Mac. That's not a bad thing, as there are many different influences that have found their way into Country Music the past few years, making the genre more diverse. As far as acceptance with mainstream Country fans, I think that Carey has done well with her cover of Keith Urban's "That Was Her, This Is Now," as well as the moving "Stand," which might very well be the best cut on the album. If you like your Country with a little bit of an 80s flair, you might like this! For more about Eileen Carey or to buy this CD, visit http://www.eileencarey.com |
