Brandi's Blurbs - Eileen Carey, "Movin On"

Gab reviewer, Brandi, took the time to review Eileen Carey's "Movin On." Thanks Brandi!
As I sit to write a review of Eileen Carey, it is really hard to know where to begin. It is uncommon when you come across someone who is already a "star" in his or her own right, but relatively unknown otherwise. I'll start off with saying I love, love, love her sound, and her music choices for this CD, "Movin' On". Her voice is unique, in that she has a natural talent for blending blues, pop, and country together that is all her own sound. Unlike so many other artists trying to break into the mainstream of country radio, she doesn't sound like any one else, nor do I think she wants to. I get the feeling she is a success already with so many fans because she is not a sell out. She has stayed true to her talent, and she comes across as an authentic artist. The song, "That was her, this is now" written by Keith Urban and Vernon Rust as already won her an award at the 5th Annual South Bay 2009 Music Awards. This album also won Americana Album of the Year at the 19th Annual L.A. Music Awards. With upbeat tempo's on songs such as "What Goes Around", and "Out With the Girls" to more low key tracks like "Faith", the album doesn't disappoint. If you like an artist with guts to take risks, and break the mold, Eileen Carry is your girl. I'd recommend this CD to anyone who likes diverse music, and unique sound in an album.
